The American Cancer Society’s Richmond Golf Classic is a high-end, amenity-rich tournament that raises funds for the Society’s mission of improving the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
The event begins with an unforgettable afternoon celebration at Dover Hall featuring live music, incredible food, silent and live auction and a few surprises for all, followed by an outstanding day of golf at Hermitage Country Club.
We invite you to join our efforts to finish the fight against cancer.
Ben launched CB Chandler in 2011 alongside his father, Craig Wright, with a vision to build meaningful, high-quality projects grounded in respect for the craft and the people they serve.
Growing up in Richmond, Ben learned construction from his father’s hands-on approach, absorbing the importance of precision, pride, and integrity in every detail – from cabinet doors to trim work.
Prior to founding CB Chandler, Ben earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from East Carolina University.
Ben resides in Richmond, VA with his wife Margaret and their children.
Congratulations to ACS Sr. Development Manager Mercedes McGinthy & Event Chair Benjamin Wright for winning the Volunteer Staff Partnership award for their work on a record-breaking 2026 Richmond Golf Classic!

As the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, discovery, and patient support, the American Cancer Society has made significant contributions to the fight against cancer over the last 110 years. We advocate for lifesaving policy changes, promote healthy lifestyles to help prevent cancer, and provide information, answers, and support to people in every community who have been touched by cancer. We also research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatment.
The American Cancer Society provides information and resources to help patients and their loved ones manage through cancer treatment and recovery, and to help with the emotional support they need. They also work to remove barriers that stand between the patient and lifesaving treatment.
For many patients with cancer, transportation challenges can create barriers to receive the treatment they need. Many people need daily or weekly treatment, often for several months. Family and friends may help, but they may not always have the time or resources to provide every ride. The American Cancer Society is proud to provide transportation assistance to those in need, by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments.
The American Cancer Society continues to work tirelessly to fund research and provide support for all types of cancer. And thanks to your generous support, we work to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Every cancer. Every life.
